This book is considered the Bible of Recirculating Aquaculture. It contains detailed information on all aspects of RAS from system design through operations. In addition the authors detail there own experiences and challenges in starting and operating a commercial venture.

This book is not about fish selection and pathology, it does cover some fish management as it relates to RAS. While this book is not essential reading for the average aquaponic hobbyist, it is essential for anyone considering Aquaponics on a commercial scale.

This book is the text book used for the Cornell University Short Course since 1994 and is an indispensable reference for anyone designing a major new system.

The 2007 edition contains a complete chapter (55 pages) by Dr. James Rakocy on Aquaponics. Most of the material by Dr. Rakocy is available in his published research papers, it does include production data on a wide variety of crops.

    The chapters are as follows:
    1. Intro to Recirculating Aquaculture Technology
